     I play the piano, and I have for a long time.

​When I play solo, 
     it's probably new,
     and it's probably complex,
     and it's probably dissonant,
          but, it's probably lyrical,
     and I like it that way.

    More often than playing solo, though, 
           you'll catch me collaborating.
      I work with singers, I work with actors.
I work with storytellers.

      Storytellers take so many forms,
           and isn't that something?

      It brings me joy and purpose
           to contribute my musical offerings 
           to storytellers
 and rooms full of storytellers
that I admire, respect, adore.

 Sometimes it's helpful that I perform,
      or that I musically direct,
      or that I accompany,
     or that I conduct,
     or that I compose,
       or that I coach,
      or that I play auditions,
      or that I teach,
      or that I make recordings
...
 I believe that music is storytelling,
      and the invigorating prospect of new stories,
      and new storytellers,
      and untold stories,
      and underrepresented storytellers,
      and rehabilitating stories,
and lifting storytellers
...
 I go where the storytellers are,
      and I try to help.
